The IO3XX-24 is a Speedgoat I/O interface extension. It is ideally suited for electric motor control applications as it can interface control algorithms to multiple position sensors and power-converted gate drives. This I/O interface extension requires an additional slot in your test system.
The IO3XX-24 expands the I/O functionality of Simulink®-programmable FPGA I/O modules and configurable I/O modules with two independent resolver measurement channels. Each resolver-to-digital converter channel includes a reference signal oscillator. The I/O interface extension features up to 40 single-ended and eight differential digital I/O lines.
The digital I/O lines have software-programmable transceiver voltage, pull-resistor, and termination resistor settings. The pull resistor is software configurable and can either be a 3.3 V pull-up, 5 V pull-up, or pull-down to ground. The direction of the five groups of eight single-ended digital lines can be configured as input or output by software. Up to 16 single-ended digital lines can work as up to 8 differential digital lines. Differential I/O lines can be used as bi-directional interfaces with output-enable ports.
Using a Simulink®-programmable FPGA module, you can precisely sample and read the resolver-to-digital converter's position, speed, and fault registers. You can also directly access all digital I/O lines. All interfaces are included in the IO3XX HDL Coder™ Integration Package.
Using a Configurable I/O module, you can access the resolver-to-digital converter using a fully integrated driver block. Based on a custom FPGA configuration file, the digital I/O lines can be mapped to various functionalities, such as PWM, Quadrature Decoder, or serial communication interfaces.
